Federal govt MIA again

One of the reasons that Arizona govt introduced the new immigration law (SB 1070) in the state, which by the way is very similar to Federal law (U.S.C. 1304(e)), was the reluctance on the part of federal govt to enforce the existing federal law.  The state of Arizona had no choice but to take the matters into its own hands.

It seems that once again the Federal govt is not fulfilling its responsibilities.  On day 34 of the oil leak in the Louisiana govt has taken the matters into its own hands.

Frustrated Louisianans took the oil cleanup into their own hands Sunday, heading out in boats to lay protective booms around a bird sanctuary threatened by a black tide.

Where is Obama in all this? Perhaps he is in bed with Big Oil or is cheering on the Mexican President Calderon to attack Arizona. Surely the first time an American President has encouraged a foreign leader to attack an American state when he should be busy encouraging “serious minded, intelligent and pragmatic persons around him” to actually read the Arizona immigration bill.
