A $500 fine for driving drunk and holding flake? It just goes to show that once you are a member of the club, you are, short of truly egregious conduct, always a member of the club. Rather like Waugh's Capt. Grimes, who believed he had been set back on his feet by his old school chums more than any other chap of his acquaintance, despite conduct which his school headmasters could neither understand nor condone.
