I recall a discussion with my university roommate in the 60’s , whose girl friend’s father immigrated from Austria to Canada after WW2. When the father was asked how Hitler came to power , the answer was he didn’t know , except one morning they awakened to find Hitler running the country.

Funny,they don’t remember giving Hitler all the adulation of a Saviour,lining up for hours to hear him speak,packing sports stadiums, shouting Seig Heil?
Germans/Austrians have very convenient memories when the subject is Hitler or the Nazis.
The Brit is sounding the warning, but few will listen. Wait for it, he’ll be called a racist and given the boot.
