Red Tape Protest could be huge

9:24 am Uncategorized

It starts with an Australian farmer, Peter Spencer, who is starving himself to death because the greenie government stole his land.  This could go global. So simple and so real.  The Tea Party movement in the US has made great strides, but its Amnerican branding localizes and restricts it. But everybody hates red tape because it means big government everywhere.

“James in Tasmania has had a great idea to support Peter Spencer. He took something known as “flagging tape”, added a scarecrow, and a slow moving sheep and created this message for the world to see.”

It may be wishful thinking on my part, but is it possible that we are witnessing the first stirrings of a revolt against the tyranny, the misuse of taxpayer funds, and the intrusions of micromanaging governments and the social engineers into people’s daily lives in the western democracies?
I know that here in Alberta, Ezra Levant had a lot of financial support in his battle against the oppressive HRCs. I know that the farmer near Edmonton who who put a load of buckshot into the rear end of a thief, and who was subsequently charged by the RCMP, has received a ton of financial help. I know that there is a voter revolt against a government that operates behind closed doors, breaks agreements, and wastes money is in danger of falling after nearly fourty years of being in power.
Can it be that the populace, and particularly those who grew up in an age before schools were little more than brain-washing academies for the leftist viewpoint, are reaching the breaking point when it comes to bureaucratic interference in our lives? One can only hope!

I had the pleasure of hearing Peter Spencer interviewed — very good interview, too, with a fair but sympathetic interviewer on the ABC’s Radio National programme, “Counterpoint” (transcript available via http://www.abc.net.au/rn/counterpoint/stories/2009/2764313.htm). Here was one media person, at least, who wasn’t bought into statist theory!

In any event, the revolt can’t come soon enough.

Ironic to promote Libertarianism with the colour of Communism.

Looks like a waste of good plastic.

    G’day guys.
Together our road frontage is the biggest billboard space on the planet.
To wrap it up with red tape is the perfect metaphor.
Make em hear with their eyes.
The media can’t hide or twist this one!
