Unintended irony at the Red Star
December 28, 2009 1:28 pm UncategorizedSaturday’s Toronto Star story about the three-day Islamic gathering there ends like this:
For Janan Arafa, a 17-year-old high school student from Ottawa, the prospect of learning more about her religion brought her back to the convention for a second year. “Your faith increases by one thousand notches – no, one million notches,” she said. “You learn so much and you meet so many people. Islam means finding peace within yourself. We, with this conference, learn how to spread the word about what our religion is really about.”

Well Janan, I’ll have a little respect for your religion of “peace within yourself” when you and the rest of the Muslims in this country get off your collective asses and speak loudly in denounciation of Radical Extremism.
The only Canadian Muslims I have respect for (and in large measure) are Salim Mansur and Tarek Fatah. These are men of courage and truth and all Canadian Muslims should heed what they have to say.

well Keyboy, your an idiot! it would of been a smart to actually look around the communities to see who has been getting off their asses and actually spreading the word of peace, oh and cbc and ctv aren’t always going to show you all those stories, unfortunately the media is very selective of the stories that make islam look good.and how do you expect for one to speak out and preach peace if they haven’t “found peace within oneself”. It’s a good thing were not holding our breath for you respect keyboy.
