Major Hassan, Islamic jihadist

7:08 pm American Politics, Islam and the West, Political Correctness

Forgive me for stating the obvious. There must be dozens out there pointing out the same thing – the total lack of leadership and moral clarity by the US President, the US Chief of Staff and the media on the subject of the plain-as-day motives of our jihadi shrink gone bad.

Some people who are being clear are:

Laurence Auster in View from the Right

Dennis Prager in Front Page Mag

Colby Cosh in the National Post

Irshad Manji, in a way that would survive Globe and Mail sensitivities.

Ron Radosh at Pajamas Media.

Lorne Gunter, in the National Post

Lorne Gunter writes:
“It is one thing to be tolerant of others’ views and beliefs, so long as those others are respectful of your creed and ideology in return. That has long been a hallmark of our pluralistic democracies. It is still. No matter how bad human rights commissions, Toronto Star columnists or special interest cause pleaders may claim discrimination is in Western societies, tolerance is and always has been at its greatest in the West.

The trouble with political correctness is that it doesn’t require that others be respectful in return.”

Prager writes:
“The deaths and maiming at Fort Hood are heartbreaking and angering. But ultimately far more injurious to America than the act of evil that caused those deaths and injuries is the massive self-deception American society engages in out of fear of being called bigoted, racist or “Islamaphobic.””

John King’s interview with General Casey skips over Islam (the only issue is possible backlash) to the question of stress in the military.

I am waiting for the explosion of Islamophobia. Have not heard it yet. I have barely seen any analysis let alone rioting and murder.

Irshads comment is so typical for her because she plays both sides of the issues.
I have yet to hear her condemn Muhammad for his rape of a 9 year old girl, nor condemn Muhammed’s slaughter of 900 unarmed villagers that he tricvked into a Bogus Peace-pact to be safe around Muslims.
It’s really sad that she will spend her entire life in turmoil over islam since she wants to believe it is Peaceful and all the violent tracts are lies or a period behavour .
But the Quran must be taken as still valid and Muhammed is the Perfect man to be emulated, and if a car never ran right after 1400 years of people claiming it was the perfect automobile but misunderstood by Humans, then who would believe the car would ever run or work as declared in the manual????
Sharia law almost came to canada when Sheema Khan excused away the violence caused by it because it wasn’t tired in canada yet and we shouldn’t judge Shariah because it hasn’t ever worked anywhere in the past.
    Know islam – No Peace
    No Islam – Know Peace

Thanks for sending this along. It is encouraging to see someone with enough strength and courage to print the truth.

While we cannot condemn all Muslims for the actions of Maj. Hasan we cannot ignore the fact that he shouted “Allah Akhbar” as he began firing. This act of murder was committed in the name of Islam. If indeed most Muslims deplore this act of violence it is time for them to say so. Few of them have condemned the killings. The fact that they do not wish to criticize or condemn these acts of murder is the most troubling aspect of this atrocity. There appears to be some kind of “us vs. them” mentality among Canadian and US Muslims which causes them to remain silent when acts of violence and hatred are committed in the name of Islam. Tarak Fatah being a notable exception, and he has been ostracized because of his views. Can you imagine the Pope remaining silent if someone claimed to be acting in the name of Catholicism or Christianity before he opened fire on a room full of people ? Until the majority of Muslims begin to openly condemn acts of violence committed in the name of Islam we will see more senseless killing.
