Fact-checking the Dion-Layton marriage

1:05 pm Canadian Politics

How long can this supposedly happy couple stay in the same House when the Dion side of the family has been ruthlessly tearing apart the credibility of their new kinfolk?

  • Liberals denounce Layton for claiming Grit corporate tax cuts weakened the economy
  • NDP lying about plans for taxing business, say Liberals
  • NDP costing of Liberal platform exaggerated: “If this is how the NDP counts and balances revenues and expenses, one must question the abilities of the NDP to budget and balance its own platform”

How can the Liberals give 25% of cabinet seats to people in whom they have 0% confidence in basic management of government?

When they get 67% of their money from the public dole and have a 100% disregard for the will of the Canadian electorate.

Well, at least the coalition government will have a financial advisor team that consists of Frank McKenna, Paul Martin, John Manley and Roy Romanow.

Yah know, be mad as hell,
but know that there is no procedural way to stop this.

Canada’s future lies in the hands of a Liberal appointee, Ms.Jean,
    where the road forks

    1.
a coalition that promises to meet Separatist demands on a continual basis
(Western Canada will dust off the Clarity Act and proceed to decide their place in this Canada)

    2.
the people are empowered, and given another election

How about the Conservatives get the opposition to put their money where their mouths are by introducing a separate bill to scrap public funding of parties sometime before Opposition Judgment Day and see how they vote on it then? Could make good ammo for an election.. or they could make it a confidence vote and dare them to topple the Government over it…
