MSM Back at Work?

American Politics, Freedom of Speech No Comments

Two Chicago newspapers, Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times (h/t The Big Feed) today update us on the relationship between BHO and Bill Ayers, the unrepentant domestic terrorist.  Can one assume that MSM in US is back at work?

BHO described Bill Ayers as follows in a debate before the Pennsylvania primary:

This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.

And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn’t make much sense, George.

First point to note is that Weather Underground didn’t stop bombing till BHO was 24-years old.  That being said, Bill Ayers offers the following clarification on their relationship in a new afterword to his 2001 book.

We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign…

According to Chicago Tribune, Ayers wrote the new afterword on July 4, “in the heat of the summer presidential campaign, with all its attendant bells and whistles and spin, all the diversion and dissembling that happens every four years when the big election carnival rolls into town.”  Now that we are clear on all this, perhaps Ayers can take his rightful place, see below.

Study Shows: Foreplay irrelevant to orgasms

Culture, Sport 1 Comment

By Dalwhinnie

Amidst all the foofarah of Obama, world doom, and Mighty Subjects of Pressing Concern, I noted the following on Monday, November 10th, 2008. A survey of  2,360 Czech women showed that the length of foreplay was irrelevant to the number and strength of womens’ orgasms. It all depends on the quality and duration of intercourse.

Thirty-five years of feminist propaganda down the tubes. This reminds me of the old Australian joke: “What is the definition of Australian foreplay?” Answer: “Brace yourself, Sheila”.

Here is what the report said, courtesy of the Telegraph:

“In the study, reported in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, the academics quizzed a representative sample of 2,360 Czech women of all ages about details of their sex lives, including orgasmic consistency with a partner along with estimated duration of foreplay and intercourse.

“Results show that for the women in the study, the average duration of foreplay was 15.4 minutes, and intercourse, 16.2 minutes.

“The researchers point out that 16.2 minutes is considerably longer than reported in American studies, where intercourse was found to last on average seven minutes.

“They added: “It could be that this reflects, a greater appreciation of intercourse and sensuality by Europeans than by Americans.”

“The researchers looked at frequency of orgasm in the women, and foreplay and intercourse data. They concluded the links with foreplay were insignificant. Instead they suggest that the longer intercourse lasts, the greater the probability of orgasm for the women.”

Or is this the proof of Nelson’s dictum: “Never mind manoeuvres, always go straight at them”.

No definition of foreplay was supplied, so it is not possible to know what the researchers meant. But fucking them long and hard is always recommended. Sound doctrine and policy. Women appreciate the performance, it seems.

Now, back to the recession, inflation, and world doom.

GM is on the ropes and the condition is so dire that they even had to scale back their presence at the LA Auto Show.  There are reports that the company may not survive till January, without an immediate massive infusion of cash.  The One pressed Bush to provide bailout funds given the urgency, but was rebuffed by Bush.  Even if Bush was to approve the bailout-for-billionaires, it is unlikely that it would be approved in Senate given this report in WaPo.

A stumbling block may be the Senate, where Republicans control 49 seats until the new Congress is seated in January. Many Republican senators were attacked on the campaign trail by Democratic opponents for supporting the original Treasury bailout legislation last month and probably won’t be in the mood to expand the program to the car companies, Senate aides said.

A USA Today/Gallup poll taken over the weekend found that helping the auto industry and other big firms ranks low on the public’s list of economic priorities, with just one in five of those surveyed saying such assistance is “critical” or “very important.”

Reid seemed to acknowledge as much yesterday. “Senate Democrats are committed to doing all we can to help the auto industry,” he said in a written statement. “But until next year, we still have the slimmest of majorities in the Senate; this will only get done if President Bush and Senate Republicans work with us in a bipartisan fashion.”

That is right, let bygones be bygones.  After all it was 9-days ago that we were attacking you.

When trying to understand what happened to Detroit, this article is a must read.

Another in a long list of continuing accomplishments of The One.

Oswego police are continuing their investigation of a Sunday morning melee that left a Barack Obama supporter gravely injured and a soldier who fought in Afghanistan charged with his beating…

About 12 people, including several soldiers, took the argument outside and the fight broke out, according to a restaurant waitress who declined to give her name.

“It was all over the new president,” the waitress said.

Police said no weapons were involved in the fight.

Moreno, who is majoring in wellness management, (wellness management?! – AG) is an Obama supporter according to his Facebook Web site, which features an Obama poster.

Affluent Voters and Liberalism

American Politics, Canadian Politics, Economics and Finance 4 Comments

In an analysis of the last US election Politico notes:

…President Clinton got 38 percent of the vote among those making over $100,000. This year Obama earned 49 percent of that vote. He also got 52 percent of a new polling category — those making over $200,000 a year who were no longer among the top 1 percent of earners, as they had been in past elections, but were now the top 6 per cent…

But 69 percent of all Americans in polls I conducted in recent years now also call themselves “professionals,” a new class transcending the old class labels or working or middle class or the wealthy. They have white-collar jobs requiring higher education and are earning more than ever before. Because of layoffs and business scandals of recent years, they have become increasingly embittered toward the corporate cultures that would have otherwise been their natural home base…

These higher educated voters generally believe more in science than religion, in the interconnectedness of the world, and in pragmatism over ideology. They see us all living in a new world and are watching their kids enter it taking new economy kinds of jobs in places increasingly far away from home…

One of the key factors that has transformed this class of “professionals” is the increasing government regulation, which has led to increase in requirements for lawyers, accountants and other assorted hanger-ons. They do not add value to any process, but serve as leeches and parasites, who take a tiny bite out of production. Lawyers in US are a solid Democratic constituency as they know where the money comes from. An increasing number of professionals are catching on to this, as government spreads its tentacles. This is merely an extension, in a roundabout way, of the majority taxing the rich minority or majority relying on government for their welfare.

Update: Nov 12, 2008

A post at The Futurist updates the vote by income statistics.

A Marxist would say after looking at the statistics for those making over $200,000 and those making less than $15,000: “Obama has united the Proletariat and the Bourgeois. “

Email to Veterans Affairs minister

Dear Mr. Thompson:

I want to register my disapproval of the participation of the Canadian Human Rights Commission at Remembrance Day ceremonies.  As I hope a minister would be aware, the commission is currently the subject of several investigations.  I and others consider the Commission to be a real and frightening enemy of the freedoms Canadians have fought to preserve. While I hope its appearance tomorrow has a sincere motivation, I suspect it is simply part of a public relations exercise that attempts to restore a badly – and deservedly – tarnished image.

Best regards,

Whilst the financial markets do an encore of 1930s, politics does the same.

- A man is arrested for wearing McCain/Palin t-shirt amongst Obama supporters who were celebrating on election night.  Perhaps it was done for his own safety!

- Peter Hitchens writes on the same topic and draws analogy to the Diana funeral: At least Mandela-worship its nearest equivalent – is focused on a man who actually did something.  I really don’t see how the Obama devotees can ever in future mock the Moonies, the Scientologists or people who claim to have been abducted in flying saucers. This is a cult like the one which grew up around Princess Diana, bereft of reason and hostile to facts.  He goes on to identify the religious overtones in the campaign.

Planning under way for Obama holiday

American Politics 1 Comment

By Glendronach

According to the Topeka Capital-Journal:

Plans are being made to promote a national holiday for Barack Obama, who will become the nation’s 44th president when he takes the oath of office Jan. 20.

“Yes We Can” planning rallies will be at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the downtown McDonald’s restaurant, 1100 Kansas Ave., until Jan. 13. The goals are to secure a national holiday in Obama’s honor, to organize celebrations around his inauguration and to celebrate the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, who was born on Feb. 12 1809.

And clearly excitement is building as Obama supporters practise for the big day:

And A Mountain for Messiah

American Politics 1 Comment

By Arran Gold

Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister W. Baldwin Spencer has written to Obama and offered to “take immediate measures for Antigua and Barbuda’s highest mountain peak to be dedicated in your honour and renamed “Mount Obama”.  He goes on to state that Obama’s “manifest devotion to family will strengthen families around the planet.”  And this for a person who has a half-brother who lives in a hut and an aunt, who was invited to Obama’s 2004 Senate swearing-in ceremony, but is an illegal alien living in public subsidized housing?  One can only assume that the concept of “devotion to family” has a different meaning among black politicians.

America Transforms

From this time forward, you will service us.  And so it was done.

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Update: Nov 8, 2008

The above quote was airbrushed into history by the Obama Politburo.  The new phrase reads:

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

The post-racial healing begins in US, thanks to The One.

Israeli newspapers are already rejoicing about President-elect Obama’s selection of Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., to be his White House chief of staff…

In the Israel newspaper Ma’ariv, Emanuel’s father, Dr. Benjamin Emanuel said, “Obviously he will influence the president to be pro-Israel. Why wouldn’t he be? What is he, an Arab? He’s not going to clean the floors of the White House.”

The Barrel Strength debate: whither American conservatism?

American Politics 2 Comments

By Glendronach

In a recent missive to the Barrel Strength audience Dalwhinnie asked, “Does the US need a British-style Conservative Party?” If by that one means a party ready and committed to some genuine soul-searching and reorganization, then yes.

That is not to say that the GOP has to go wobbly. I remember how queasy I felt when I heard David Cameron make his execrable “hug a hoodie” pitch. But the Cameron organization did make an effort to learn from the mistakes of recent British Tory leaders. They have pursued a more professional campaign organization and made sincere outreach to communities thought previously outside the Tory fold. The Cameron Tories have grown themselves beyond the fringes of the “country pursuits” set to become a competitive responsible alternative. We had to undergo a similar experience in Canada, and we know that some have never cottoned to Harper’s reshaping of twenty-first century Tories.

American conservatives, thankfully, do not face quite the formidable systemic barriers that have necessitated the Long March approach adopted — thus far successfully — by Harper. They do have to try and rediscover who they are and how they tell that story to more people.

First, Kremlin sock-puppet Dimitry Medvedev throws down the gauntlet on missile defence. Now, plans may be underway to put Vladimir Putin back into the Russian presidency until 2021:

A proposal on Wednesday by Mr. Putin’s protege President Dmitry Medvedev to extend the presidential term from four to six years has re-ignited speculation that Mr. Putin, who stepped down this year because of a term limit, could be preparing a comeback.

Vedomosti newspaper reported that the proposed term extension was part of a plan drawn up by Vladislav Surkov, Mr. Medvedev’s first deputy chief of staff, to trigger an early presidential election in which Mr. Putin would run.

Now there’s change He didn’t expect.
