Drudge Report caption’s a fake photograph with fake news

Today’s Drudge Report headline states “SHOCK CLAIM: NO ICE AT NORTH POLE THIS SUMMER“. This is illustrated with the following photograph of sunset at the North Pole.

This photograph is a well known fake, but then, this is quite appropriate in this case.

The Cryosphere Today is a web site run by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champain which tracks the ice extent at both poles on a daily basis.

This chart compares the artic ice of a year ago to today. It’s obvious that there is more ice now than last year.

This chart alo shows that while the artic ice extent is down from historical lows, it is well up from last year.

    So does this.
So are people just creating stories out of whole cloth now?

I can’t spell “arctic” and I meant historical averages, not lows. I blame it all on BS for not having a preview button.
