Do you remember global warming?

The article covers several sources of data whose cumulative testimony is highly equivocal, with some places heating and many cooling. None of this would be the least concern save for the fact that global warming is a politically charged TRUTH whose existence may not be denied on pain of accusations of heresy, abdication of the scientific method, and evil intentions.
“The most dramatic evidence, however, emerged last week with an announcement by Nasa’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory that an immense slow-cycling movement of water in the Pacific, known as the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO), had unexpectedly shifted into its cool phase, something which only happens every 30 years or so, ultimately affecting climate all over the globe.
“Discussion of this on the invaluable Watts Up With That website, run by the US meteorologist Anthony Watts, shows how the alternations of the PDO between warm and cool coincided with each of the major temperature shifts of the 20th century – warming after 1905, cooling after 1946, warming again after 1977 – and how the new shift to a cool phase could have repercussions for decades to come.”
And so forth. Windmills, anyone?

I never stand close to Dalwhinnie when he outrages Gaia with his denialist heresies. One of these days her patience will snap and she will send the lightning.

Standing beside Dalwhinnie is a lot safer than beside the AGW hysterians. For example the 2005 drought in Eastern Australia was touted to be caused by global warming and would only get worse until the cities would have to be abandoned. It started raining in January of 2006 and Eastern Australia has been plagued with record flooding ever since. What abut the National Hurricane Center who in an attempt to make up for the dud 2006 season and confirm the “global warming causes more hurricanes” theory wasted the names Andrea, Barry and Chantel on storms that should not have been named at all. To be fair Barry at least looked like it might become a tropical storm for a couple of hours. Mother nature became slightly annoyed and sent a category 5 storm to show her displeasure. Not taking the hint, the NHC named a group of thunderstorms rotating the wrong way Erin. So what happened? For the first time ever there was a second cat 5 storm in an Atlantic season. You have been warned.
